Artist's Description

Cannock Chase; is the forest where we walk our two dogs Woody & Nelson ...!!! A light flurry of snow has fallen overnight and the ferns were in their golden glow, it made for a wonderful hike through the tall pine trees. Cannock Chase was once the hunting ground of ancient royalty, Cannock Chase is today a picturesque area of woodland walks, wildlife and superb scenery. At only 26 square miles the Chase is the smallest area to be designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in mainland Britain. Much of Cannock Chase is owned by Staffordshire County Council and Forest Enterprise, which manage part of it as a commercial forest. Cannock Chase Country Park covers 4.5 square miles (3,000 acres) making it one of the largest country parks in England. Large parts of the Country Park, and other parts of the Chase, are recognised as Sites of Special Scientific Interest which are important wildlife habitats.Also located on the Chase near Sherbrook Valley are a Commonwealth War Cemetery an...

Hi my name is Jean; I am a self-taught artist who works from my studio at home, in oil paint on canvas, My main subjects being Landscapes and Seascapes. I have recently undertaken portraiture, of which I am thoroughly enjoying and a new and challenging area for myself. I also have an extremely keen interest in Photography and I often paint from my collection of pictures, they prove an invaluable source of reference on wet and windy days when it is impossible or impractical to paint al-fresco. In 2002 i decided to expand my vocabulary in art by enrolling into Lichfield & Tamworth College for a 2-year Art course to obtain my A-Level. In 2004 I was accepted into Wolverhampton University, graduating in 2007 with a B.A (hons) in Fine Art...
