Red deer, are one of the most beautiful deer that roam free on Cannock Chase Forest in Staffordshire, UK, the rutting season usually starts in the autumn when the Stags become aggressive and territorial towards other Stags and anyone who threatens their females. This painting was a commission for a lady who purchased it for her husbands birthday, who adores Stags.

Hi my name is Jean; I am a self-taught artist who works from my studio at home, in oil paint on canvas, My main subjects being Landscapes and Seascapes.
